10-Point Unbiased Review of Built Bar and Built Boost
|Updated on January 26, 2020
Do you rely on protein bars like Built Bar to appease your hunger and satisfy your sweet tooth? Do you resort to vitamin powders like Built Boost to hydrate and boost your energy levels? You are not the only one. Nearly 45 million Americans consume protein bars and energy or diet snacks every year. Analysts expect these numbers to grow significantly within the following years.
Unfortunately, healthy, nutritious, clean-label and tasty protein bars are still rare in the U.S. market. Many brands make impressive health claims while their ingredient labels are dominated by sugar or dangerous sweeteners, additives, and preservatives.
In the meantime, Built Bar and Built Boost focus on taste but seem to have some of the most attractive nutritious profiles on the market. Do they deliver on their promises and are their products really healthy?
We decided to answer the question through an in-depth, 10-point review of the brand, from the company behind it to the products themselves and the reactions (and testimonials) of those who have tried them. Check out our findings below:
Built Bar and Built Boost: “Tasty and Healthy” or Better Avoided?
1. Producer
The company that manufactures these protein bars and vitamin powders is based in Utah, close to Salt Lake City. Although information on it is scarce, the founder and developer is Luke Tolley, who has a Ph.D. in molecular chemistry and a solid reputation. Apparently, he makes the chocolate for the bars himself, from cocoa beans, using his molecular chemistry knowledge and his two decades of experience.
According to our research, Luke Tolley was also behind The Other Nutrition Company, which produced and sold The Other Protein Bars, and worked with companies like Tranxend and Axcend Corp. In times when many companies invent stories and people to sell their products, we were thrilled to discover that Built Bar has a reputable professional as founder and developer.
2. Products Assortment
The company primarily focuses on protein bars but has recently launched a line of vitamin powder blends. They promise excellent taste and exceptional nutrition with no preservatives and artificial flavors.
The Built Bar protein bars are wrapped in 100% real, dark chocolate and contain only natural flavors and coloring agents. Their products are free of major allergens. There are 13 flavors available. The bars weigh 53 grams and are available for sale in boxes of 18. Those who find it difficult to choose one flavor can opt for the mixed box containing two bars of the most popular flavors or design their own box with their favorite varieties.
The Built Boost vitamin blends contain the daily recommended dose of 11 essential vitamins, extracts of three super plants, and incredibly high levels of B2 and B6 vitamins. Each pack of Built Boost contains 30 smaller packs of 4g each. Buyers can choose one of the available flavors or order the mixed flavor pack.
3. Built Bar and Built Boost Flavors, Texture, and Taste
As mentioned above, the Built bars are available in 13 different flavors, all having chocolate as a starting point:
- Double Chocolate Mousse
- Vanilla Chocolate Creme
- Raspberry Chocolate Creme
- Orange Chocolate Creme
- Coconut Chocolate Creme
- Black Cherry Chocolate Creme
- Banana Chocolate Creme
- Salted Caramel Chocolate
- Coconut Almond
- Peanut Butter
- Banana Nut Bread
- Peanut Butter Brownie
- Mint Brownie Delite
Built Bar changes their offer regularly, introducing new varieties and giving up others, so the assortment may look different within a couple of weeks. The good news is that the bars have a light, fluffy texture. They melt in your mouth, releasing natural, delicious tastes and flavors, superior to anything you would expect at their nutritional profile and to what most other competing products have to offer.
The six flavors of the Built Boost vitamin powder are:
- Black Cherry Lemonade
- Pina Colada
- Strawberry Vanilla
- Pineapple Strawberry
- Mango Tangerine
- Fruit Punch
The taste of the vitamin drink is usually refreshing and better than that of many competing products. However, your perception will surely depend on flavor preferences and how used you are to vitamin drinks. It’s more of an acquired taste, and, for someone who is not used to vitamin drinks, some flavors may not be that spectacular.
4. Built Bar and Built Boost Nutritional Profiles
The nutritional profile of the Built bars varies from one flavor to another. The Creme varieties have the fewest calories, while the peanut butter varieties have the most calories. However, those who have tried them claim the additional calories are worth it.
- Double Chocolate Mousse – 110 calories, 15g protein, 4g fat, 6g fiber, 4g sugar
- Vanilla Chocolate Creme – 110 calories, 15g protein, 4g fat, 6g fiber, 4g sugar
- Raspberry Chocolate Creme – 110 calories, 15g protein, 4g fat, 6g fiber, 4g sugar
- Orange Chocolate Creme – 110 calories, 15g protein, 4g fat, 6g fiber, 4g sugar
- Coconut Chocolate Creme – 110 calories, 15g protein, 4g fat, 6g fiber, 4g sugar
- Black Cherry Chocolate Creme – 110 calories, 15g protein, 4g fat, 6g fiber, 4g sugar
- Banana Chocolate Creme – 110 calories, 15g protein, 4g fat, 6g fiber, 4g sugar
- Salted Caramel Chocolate – 110 calories, 15g protein, 4g fat, 6g fiber, 4g sugar
- Coconut Almond – 130 calories, 18g protein, 5g fat, 7g fiber, 3g sugar
- Peanut Butter – 170 calories, 20g protein, 7g fiber, 7g fat, 3g sugar
- Banana Nut Bread – 150 calories, 18g protein, 5g fat, 6g fiber, 5g sugar
- Peanut Butter Brownie – 170 calories, 20g protein, 7g fat, 7g fiber, 3g sugar
- Mint Brownie Delite – 110 calories, 15g protein, 4g fat, 6g fiber, 4g sugar
Built Boost powders have all the same nutritional profile: no calories, fats, fiber, or sugar, just beneficial vitamins and plant extracts.
To better understand what the protein bars have to offer and how healthy they are, it helps to look at the ingredients.
5. Ingredients
Before we review the ingredients list, keep in mind that, unlike many protein bars on the market, these ones contain no artificial preservatives, colorings, or flavors, no major allergens (gluten, nuts), and no GMOs. Here are their ingredients:
- Whey protein isolate
- Dark chocolate (chocolate liquor, cocoa butter, sugar, lecithin, vanilla, and vanillin)
- Gelatin
- Water
- Erythritol
- Maltodextrin
- Citric acid
- Natural flavors and colorings according to variety
As you can see, the list of ingredients is quite clean and healthy. We love the fact that they explained their choice of ingredients on their Nutrition page. Sure, some choices, like soy lecithin and vanillin are debatable but, all in all, this is one of the cleanest and healthiest ingredients list we’ve seen in protein bars, especially for this nutritional profile and incredible taste and consistency.
Unfortunately, the situation is a little different with Built Boost. These contain:
- 100% vitamin A, B, C, D, E, niacin, riboflavin, thiamin, biotin
- D-Calcium Pathentonate
- 10,000% B12
- 1,850% B6
- Maca root
- Rodiola Rosea
- Ashwagandha
- Citric acid
- Malic acid
- Fibersol2 (non-digestible, water-soluble maltodextrin)
- Sucralose
- Natural flavors and colorings
If only they didn’t use sucralose! Sure, it’s not the worst sweetener out there, and it is approved by the FDA as safe to consume. However, quite a few sources question its safety for long-term, frequent consumption.
6. Pricing and Shipping
The price of a protein bar ranges between $2 and $1.50, depending on how many boxes you order and what discounts are available. The vitamin blends cost up to $1/serving, approximately $30/pack, again, decreasing for larger volumes. It is important to note that shipping is free in the U.S. no matter how many boxes you order, so you have no additional costs to worry about.
The price may be slightly higher than that of some competing products. However, the free shipping, convenient packaging, and clean ingredients list totally make up for the difference. It would be nice to see an auto-delivery option with additional price discounts like those available for other protein bar varieties.
Of course, that would involve a long-term commitment, and the Built brand seems to be all about flexibility and convenience. With their sample box offer, they drop the price per bar to $1.76 allowing everyone to get a taste of their products.
7. Sample Box
This box is a unique offer for first-time customers. It includes 10 bars in different flavors. At the time of this review, the cost of the whole box is only $17.58, dropping the cost per bar to $1.76. It is a great way to find out if these protein bars are right for you and find out what flavor you prefer.
Truth be told, they used to have a much better offer back in 2018, when the price of the samples was $1/bar. Also, they didn’t extend the offer to their vitamin blends, but they did send free samples along with many Built Bar orders, maybe they still do.
Keep in mind that you can only order one sample box per household, and shipping may take a little more than for regular orders. However, the wait should be worth it.
8. Built Taste Guarantee
We are pretty sure you and your friends or family will love Built products. In case you do not, the company offers a taste guarantee. This means you can contact them and request a refund. They only offer refunds for one line product on first orders. To receive a refund, you have to contact the company within 14 days from order placement.
The company does not accept returns and will only allow exchanges in rare cases of defective or damaged products. This practice is common among food producers. Moreover, considering the qualities of the products under discussion, it is difficult to believe you will ever have reason to ask for a refund or replacement.
9. Built Buck$ Rewards
Built Bar had quite an attractive rewards program. It gave participants six ways to earn built buck$ and use them to pay for their orders. Unfortunately, it looks like they discontinued it or, for some reason, the link to their Rewards page redirects visitors to Homepage.
To earn built buck$, users had to:
- Sign up for the program – 50 built buck$
- Order protein bars – 1 built buck for every dollar spent
- Recommend Built Bar to friends and family – 100 built buck$ for every referral ordering a 16-bar box
- Share the Built Bar offer with Facebook or Instagram contacts every month to win 50 built buck$ per share
- Follow the company on Instagram and Facebook to earn 25 built buck$ per follow
- Stay a built bar member until birthday and earn 200 built buck$ as a gift
10. Built Reputation
Throughout the last couple of years, the company has built an impressive reputation. They have overwhelmingly positive reviews on both Amazon and third-party websites. The Built bars seem to be more appreciated than the Built boosts but, generally, most users continue to consume both and even recommend them to others, which is impressive, especially since there are no more rewards at stake.
Final Thoughts on Built Bar and Built Boost
Based on the above-presented facts, we have every reason to believe that you’ll be thrilled with these protein bars and vitamin blends. They are definitely better than most options available on the market.
Once you’ve tasted the Built Bar snacks and vitamin blends, don’t forget to get back to us and share your opinion in a comment below! This way, you can enrich our review with your own experience and help others learn the truth about Built Bar. Together, we can make protein snacks healthier and tastier!
I ordered the sample box. A week later I was ordering the larger mixed variety box. I find these bars delicious, a great pick me up at 3:30 in the afternoon, not to mention they are filling. I will be a repeat customer.
Thank you for sharing your experience, Cindy. I’m glad my review helped you discover something you like. I find them filling and delicious too. I especially like the double chocolate mousse and the salted caramel chocolate varieties. What’s your favorite variety?
These have now been reported to have 160 cals instead of the 110 claimed probably due to the maltodextrin!
Hi? Where did you get the information from? I haven’t ordered from them in a month or so and I don’t have any bars left to check the label but the nutrition facts on their website are the same. If that’s true, I’ll update the review accordingly but I need some evidence, something to rely on. Thanks!
I just got my box yesterday and they still are 110 calories. VERY delicious. The filling texture is like a soft nugget or marshmallow. Love them
I’m glad the news about the bars having 160 calories was just a false alarm. Enjoy your treats, Teresa, and thank you for putting our worries to rest!
I’ve been ordering with 2 friends since June. Delicious especially the new peanut butter. I just placed an order for coconut almond which is supposed to taste like Almon Joy. Best 3 Weight Watcher points snack!
I just received my first order of bars (yay!) and the chocolate peanut butter protein bars are 170 calories per bar (that’s 4 smart points for you ww fans). The PB bar was delicious though and well worth the points in my opinion. I also got a variety pack and only brought the coconut chocolate creme bar with me to the office. It’s 110 calories (3 SP). Haven’t tasted it yet but I’m sure it’s going to be good too. Coconut! Enough said.
I’m glad you like them, Vickie! I try to stay away from the peanut butter ones but it’s hard when they are so good :).
It was an independent lab report
Indeed, Surrie sent me a ConsumerLab report. I’m sorry I can’t attach it here. They claim the bars have more calories and carbs, so, if you are on a strict diet, you may want to count more (~160 calories) just to be sure. However, there are several inconsistencies in their report. They explain that they counted “fewer” carbs and calories from erythritol, known to have none (1-4% reported in some varieties). They calculate net carbs by deducting some fiber and sugar alcohol (without giving details on their formula), while keto dieters deduct all, and they also comment about the bar having a “putty” consistency. I will reach out to Built Bar for clarifications and keep you posted.
Wow, Built Bar support is fast. I just got their reply to my inquiry by email, pasted below. What do you think?
Hi Michaela,
Thank you so much for bringing this up. I understand there are concerns regarding this but how it was computed is not how it should be.
Total carbs is ALL carbs 13g, including insoluble fiber – insoluble fiber is not digested or absorbed by the body, so it has zero caloric or blood sugar effect – so they are not counted towards Net Carbs.
Net Carbs 5g are the carbs that have the body absorbs
Calories, which we have already corrected, is 120g. We ran multiple tests and found out that it’s actually 10g more. Still, approved by FDA. As per the FDA, calories from insoluble fiber is not counted in the calorie count, and the erythritol used is only 0.2 calories per gram, although it accounts for 1 gram of the carbohydrates
The ingredient maltodextrin is gluten-free, despite including the word “malt,” which is typically an indication that barley is used.
I hope this all make sense. If you still have any other concerns, please don’t hesitate to let us know.
Thanks!

Hi Surrie, where did you get a copy of the independent lab report? I’ve been questioning their calorie count and would like to see how it was reported. Could you point me to where I can get a copy? thanks!
I really love built bars but in my most recent box of a mix of varieties, there was a long black hair in the Lemon Almond Cheesecake bar.
Maltodextrin, is made up of GMO. It’s very bad for you. Erythritol another chemical which is also bad for you. You’re basically eating man made poison.
Yolanda, I don’t know from where you got those ideas but you should really double check, and a simple Google search will reveal that you are wrong. Both are plant-based and much safer than the ingredients in most foods and sweets on the market. Maltodextrin is extracted from starch and used in small amounts anyway, and erythritol is a polyol, a sweetener extracted from plants. I’ve been using it to replace sugar for years and I’ve never had issues. On the contrary, no more blood sugar fluctuations and fewer cravings.I wish all the foods we eat used ingredients as “harmful” as these!
Loved this review! Can I get more information on that independent lab report/Consumer Lab Report of the calories that another commenter mentioned? Super nervous I’m undercounting.
Is the liquor in the product real alcohol liquor? So a teenager shouldn’t eat it?
Jeri, unfortunately, you don’t have to worry about this for now. I just checked their website to place an order and all varieties are listed as sold out. I hope it’s just temporary. I never felt the taste of alcohol and my girls occasionally shared one bar from the varieties with less chocolate.
I am addicted! I eat 2 a day! Best tasting bar on the market
I have heard nothing but good things about the Built Bar. I have been trying to order some bars using their web page and the page won’t accept my credit card. Their card template has flashing boxes and won’t accept any entry. So I called the phone number listed on the site two separate days and the answer says to leave a message. I am skeptical of their stability to fill orders. What do you think?
Hi, Daniel!
I apologize for the late reply and thank you for reaching out. Did you succeed to place your order? I haven’t ordered from them in a while but, as far as I know, the flashing boxes are a warning sign that you should first select the type of credit card you want to use.
If you do, you should be able to fill in the information and complete the payment. I haven’t heard anything bad about them so far, and I hope they’ll keep up the good work. Try reaching out to them by chat or email. They used to reply pretty fast.
If you decide to place the order, I recommend starting with the sample box.
Let me know how it goes!
Absolutely love these bars..have been enjoying them for 3 months.
They are a gift from the “diet Gods”…low calorie, high protein, taste delicious.
Win win win
Customer service and shipping have both been amazing…#builtbarforthewin
I’ve had the same experience with them, Valerie. I’m glad they continue to deliver on their promises, but don’t hesitate to let us know if they ever disappoint you.
I placed an order an hour ago and it is scheduled to deliver tomorrow by noon to Montreal Canada. That is service!!! I love the bars and the customer service!
I have ordered many, many, many boxes of these bars. And I am very disappointed as of last 2 orders. The bars are way, way smaller than they used to be even though I’m promised they’re the same calories – there is no way that they the same nutrients! (I could send you a picture), Also, they don’t send them on ice like they used to – so by the time I get home (in FLORIDA) they’re somewhat melted- I will never order them again and very disgusted, frustrated, & upset. I can’t talk to anyone there about this. So if you can pass on this information please do thank you.
Hi Robin,
Sorry to hear about your disappointment. Did anyone else here notice such issues? It’s the first time I hear of anything like this. Yes, please send any photos or evidence you have to mihaela.c.olaru@gmail.com. I did forward your complaint to their support using the website chat because I wanted to see if they still offer the same great customer service. I’ll keep you all up to date with the news.
Best wishes!
Hey, Robin, did you see their page here?
Robin, I apologize for the delayed response. As I mentioned, I forwarded your message to Built Bar support using their chat tool. I received their reply by email only a couple of hours later, as follows:
“If you can have him/her reach out to us at support@builtbar.com, we’ll be taking care of that and explain everything but just for your information, we have cases of inconsistencies on our bars due to the process that the bars go through during production. We do have a traditional variance of +/- 5% of 53 grams but there are times that the bars that they received are more/less that variance. On the other hand, we shipped orders with cold packs during summer season but since we are still on winter shipping at the moment, we stopped temporarily shipping with cold packs. Let me know if you have other questions or concerns.”
Let me know how things go if you contact support as they recommended above.
Personally, I was relieved to discover that at least their support is as prompt as always. We’ll see if your order was a one-time thing or it becomes a habit but I want to stay optimistic because I really like these bars.
I just wrote the complaint dept as well. I found the same issue. I have ordered several boxes and this last box I just received the bars were tiny. I mean half of the size they used to be while adding an increase in price. Disappointing!
I’ve noticed the same! There is inconsistency in the size of the bars. Some as low as 45 grams instead of the 53 grams listed on the label. I have let them know. Initially they apologized right away and sent a replacement box. The last 2 times they no longer replied. I was not asking for a replacement but just wanted to be sure they were aware of this problem and hoped they were working towards fixing it. I only want success for them because they do have great tasting bars! I gather by the absence of response (now 2 times) they know and are not fixing it because they are still doing so well.
I’m sorry to hear that, Diana, especially since I, too, was a huge fan of their bars. If they continue like this they will lose customers. Do keep us posted on your experience with them.
The reviews are so good and everything I’ve read is so weirdly positive, it makes me feel like it’s a scam. No protein bar is *that* amazing. But for $6, I’ll see for myself and ordered the sampler pack. Hopefully they don’t just steal my credit card number. Those macros look way too good to be true. 110 calories for a 56 gram bar?
I agree, Brittany – the only way to tell is to form your own opinion (based on your own experience).
The macros do look impressive. I, personally, am a big-time fan of Pure Protein bars, and those 50 gram bars have 180 calories in each. Much more protein than Built Bar though. 21 grams in a Pure Protein’s “chocolate deluxe” flavor (vs Built Bar’s 15 grams). So, taking the protein amount into account, 180 calories isn’t bad at all.
Once you’ve tried Built Bar yourself, do let us know your post-experience feedback! I’m sure others will appreciate it.
Tried for the first time and so far all have been delicious and filling. A great supplement to my weight watcher program. I did notice a little digestive distress ( gas) after eating, but nothing a tums didn’t take care of.
Thank you for your feedback, Penny! Did your digestive distress continue? I do hope it was a one-time thing and you can still enjoy them but don’t hesitate to warn us and our readers if there’s anything bad we should expect!
Same here
After eating the bar. Stomach was in distress
I tried them and thought they were ok and then realized they have gelatin, so they are not vegetarian, totally ruined it for me. Gross
I’m sorry to hear about your disappointment, Melanie. It would indeed be nice to see a vegetarian option. Who knows, perhaps they’ll develop one soon!
can you tell what type of gelatin is in it? i eat kosher and am interested in whether it is bovine gelatin or pig sourced?
I have been eating these bars daily for 6+ months and love, love, love them! I like ALL the flavors but my favorites are in this order – coconut, orange, lemon, strawberry, raspberry, mint. I like ordering variety pack.
I love the variety pack, too. It’s the best solution to avoid getting bored of the same flavor, although that’s highly unlikely, at least for me .
Best protein bars I’ve ever had! Taste like a treat. Just orders 6 boxes. I had a 20% coupon so I stocked up.
Lucky you! Enjoy your treats!
I LOVE these bars! I have tried many, and these are the best yet! A friend told me about them, I ordered, and have been ordering boxes since. My husband loves them too!
My husband has recently fallen in love with them, too. The girls are already hooked. I really like the fact that we have one more thing in common and fewer temptations in the sweets cupboard.
getting 12% OFF order with SUPER12 under coupon area.. helps a little bit.. Im excited to try.. I usually eat quest bars..
Don’t forget to provide feedback once you’ve tried them, Mike! It’s always good to have a fresh perspective!
I just ordered the sample box of 6. I tried the orange thinking it would be the one I would like the least. It was amazing!! It reminded me of a candy bar, not like a protein bar that has a horrible after taste. I will be ordering these again for sure!
Karen, glad to hear you liked the box of their sample protein bars, and excited for Built Bar to gain (yet another) satisfied customer.
I’ve bought several boxes just in the last month. I eat these twice a day. My absolute favorite protein bar ever!!!
Just made my first order.a friend gave me a couple to try and I loved them.canr wait for my order to arrive.
So how was your first order experience with Built Bar, Denise? We would all love to know!
I loved the flavor of the bars. Just wish, they didn’t have Whey, soy and maltodextrin in them. Wish they would use something like Monkfruit to sweeten them.
I’m not a fan of soy and maltodextrin either, but I have nothing against whey and I like erythritol as a sweetener. In fact, I’ve been using erythritol as a replacement for sugar for years, and I’m in several groups of keto dieters who use it and we never had any bad experiences or reports, except for, maybe, the slightly minted taste.
I had been seeing built bars everywhere on social media and decided to take the plung and order the sample pack of 6 for for $6. So glad I did! Since then I have ordered three boxes. Love the taste of the chocolate mousse and vanilla cream. The texture is great too- I keep them in the fridge. For less than 150 calories and 15 grams of protein, I was convinced these were too good to be true but they are the real deal!!
I’m glad you liked them, Molly. I, too, think they are a real treat, especially for those of us who do not have time to cook and bake.
Lisa Collins, which bars have soy in them? I can’t find soy as an ingredient anywhere…I ordered the sample box and loved them, and decided to order more. But now I’m skeptical of their calories/carbs/protein listed and are they safe to eat…argh!
Michelle, did you eventually try Built Bar? What’s your opinion?
Oh, nevermind, I see the soy lecithin now…on my actual package they have conveniently left the word soy off and just used lecithin.
I ordered Built bars on April 4th with a promise they would be shipped in 2-3 business days. Today is April 17th and they have not even shipped yet according to the customer service rep, Stacy. No explanation. I see that they have strawberry and lemon out of retirment for one day. i wanted to order those flavors but can’t get my original shipment of variety box so… not sure if this company is actually a scam or not. Certainly won’t be ordering more.
I’m sorry to hear about the delay, Katie, although I’m not surprised. Everything I’ve ordered online since the pandemics began arrived late and, sometimes, in batches. Please let us know when you receive your order and if the size is right. There were some recent complaints about bar size and I’m really curious to find out if it was a temporary issue or they’re beginning to take their success for granted.
I have ordered many boxes of Built Bars over the last year and overall have been very pleased. They taste great and the flavors are varied enough to keep me coming back for more. I agree that their customer service is super fast which is awesome though I have noticed their product consistency has recently been less reliable. In late Feb 2020, I ordered 2 boxes of the Limited Release S’Mores and loved the taste but definitely noticed they were smaller than other bars I’ve received in the past. I weighed one today and it’s 46g vs the advertised package weight of 53g. Also, prior to that I ordered a mixed box and 4 of the bars in the box were completely inedible; they were so hard it hurt my teeth to bite into it so I threw them out. I informed the company and they put a “credit” into my account for those bars but I was never able to actually see the credit when I looked. (??) All I can see are Built Bucks. I have 230 Built Bucks accumulated right now and apparently 100 BB=$5 off. One would assume I then have $10 off coming to me but I can only access/use a $5 coupon. That’s annoying. I will continue to order from Built Bar for now because I love the taste and they work well into my WW plan but I will certainly be scrutinizing the quality more closely.
I’m sorry to hear about your experience, Dawn! I assume it must be difficult to cover all details in these crazy times but they should probably stop testing recipes and focus on honoring orders for the ones they have. They should definitely stop playing with quantities and the rewards program. I’ve never had more than 100BB in my account so I don’t know what their spending limit is but I’ve started using CleverGiver.com for all my online orders and they pay 18% on BuiltBar.
Do let us know if you hear from them or solve anything. I like the bars, too, but if these issues continue when the pandemics is over, I’ll probably find another supplier.
Sorry about any delays or size inconsistencies. I know that they were in the middle of switching to bigger and better bar making machinery when the pandemic hit, so it’s been sort of a mess. I think that things are mostly back on track now, so things should get better. Thanks for the patience and for liking the bars!
Thank you for the inside info, Luke. The delays are not surprising given the unique circumstances we’ve all had to adjust to. I am very happy to hear that the sizing problems were/are temporary and I hope things will get back to normal soon. Your chocolate is delicious!
I love Built Bars but unfortunately I will not be ordering them anymore. I have been eating them for about 4 months now and believe me they are good. But, I noticed my skin breaking out in pimple sized bumps, red and irritated but not really pimples. i ruled out everything I was eating/doing and it came down to the Built Bars. It must be the Whey. So I have chosen to save my skin and quit eating them. I agree with everyone else too on the size consistency. The bars seem much smaller than when I first started buying them.
I’m sorry to hear about your intolerance to whey, Colleen, and thank you for sharing your experience. Maybe they’ll develop a new recipe, without whey. Take care!
Thanks for your genuine and unbiased review of Built Br. I like your blog very much. Very good analysis and unbiased opinions.
Good work, keep it up.
Thank you, Abdul. I do my best to stay objective, and it’s encouraging to know that it shows.
Built bar seems to be coming out with a new product. I hope it is mostly the same. I would hate it it were too different – there is nothing at all wrong with the older product – nervous…
You’re so right, Roger! On one hand, I’m curious to taste every new product. On the other hand, I’d rather not risk it and stick to what I already like. Maybe they’ll include some free samples in the upcoming orders so that we can try them risk-free….just wishful thinking 🙂
I love the new Built Bars having never tried the old version. I watched lots of youtube reviews. A lot on Keto are saying it caused their blood glucose levels to rise and kicked them out of keto. I wonder too about some saying incorporating them made them get hunger pains for sweets. Would love other’s feedback.
I just received my first box and have tried three flavors. All three delicious. BUT all of the bars in my box have soy, the whole reason I purchased them was to avoid soy. Bummer. I thought I had found the perfect bar.
