10-Point SweetNight Dreamy Hybrid Mattress Review
|We recently reviewed the SweetNight Dreamy foam mattress and were impressed with the value for the money and reader response, so it seemed right to follow up with this SweetNight Dreamy hybrid mattress review.
Famous in the U.S. for its products’ attractive prices and raving buyer reviews with retailers like Amazon, Walmart, Wayfair, etc., the company kept the Dreamy line of mattresses for their D2C store.
What’s so special about the hybrid? Let’s discover together in the following lines!
1. SweetNight Dreamy Hybrid Presentation
The mattress has a modern and practical design. The top is white and wavy, with relief patterns that imitate the curves of the Grand Canyon. The white color allows it to look good even under thin and transparent sheets. The wavy top ensures that the sheets spread smoothly on the bed and don’t slip away.
The bottom part has a knitted checker design in an interesting combination of grey and mottled. It feels thicker and more durable than the top part, probably to increase lifespan and protect against wear and tear from friction with the bed foundation and sides. It’s anti-slip as well, so the mattress should stay well in place.
The passage from the top to the bottom is ensured by a zipper line in the brand’s orange color. The logo is embroidered in orange as well. We couldn’t help but notice that the cover is removable and can be dry-cleaned. You’re unlikely to clean the mattress cover too often, but it’s certainly nice to know that it’s possible to do it.
All SweetNight mattresses are conveniently delivered in a brown cardboard box, with the logo and package information printed in an appealing combination of white and orange. They come with setup and care instructions, as well as a smart cutter for safe and easy removal of the plastic wrap, without piercing the mattress cover.
2. Generous 100-Night Trial and 10-Year Warranty
With each SweetNight Dreamy hybrid mattress review you read, you learn what to expect when buying. But what if your expectations are inaccurate and you get disappointed or realize you need something else? You have 100 nights to test the mattress in the comfort of your home. If you don’t like it, you can return it and get your money back. Since shipping is free on returns as well, you really don’t risk anything.
The brand also offers a warranty of up to 10 years, so you can be sure you’re buying a durable, worthwhile mattress. Sure, there are brands that offer longer warranties. However, your sleeping preferences will likely change throughout the first decade anyway. You’ll probably need a new mattress no matter the condition of the old one.
Like most other brands, SweetNight ships through Fedex and UPS. Orders typically ship within 2-3 days from being placed. Buyers receive tracking information by email. Customer service is reported to be responsive and polite. There may be small hiccups here and there, but nothing that can’t be solved with a follow-up and a little patience. The brand has been on the market for over a decade and they seem here to stay.
3. SweetNight Dreamy Hybrid Mattress Construction
Hybrid mattresses are those that combine memory foam and coils. The one under discussion falls into the same category,
- Breathable jacquard cover – Made from OEKO-TEX Standard 100 fabric with an attractive Grand Canyon anti-slip design, it dissipates body heat and allows the skin to breathe without overheating. It can be removed and dry-cleaned.
- Cooling gel foam layer with superior airflow – It sleeps 50% cooler than traditional foam and absorbs and dissipates body heat, regulating body temperature. Thanks to it, the Dreamy mattress is perfect for those looking to avoid night sweats.
- Comfort foam layer – It adjusts to the curves of your body, providing just the right amount of hugging and pressure-relieving support in all the key areas: back, hips, and shoulders. No more stiffness or soreness, just comfort!
- Two-Zone support coil system – Hundreds of tempered steel pocketed springs (768 for the queen size) work together to provide targeted support and relief, isolate motion, and improve airflow. They also give the mattress that dash of bounce that makes it perfect for couples.
- High-density base foam layer – It adds balance, stability, and durability to the mattress and works with the other layers to prevent sagging and wear and tear.
- Foam encasement – It reinforces the perimeter, improving edge support and stability, and helping the mattress withstand the test of time. Due to it, getting in and out of bed is easier, and those sleeping closer to the edge won’t feel close to falling.
You’ll probably find similar layering in other mattresses as well, but we love the attention to detail and the thoughtful selection of materials. With every mattress they design, SweetNight gets closer and closer to solving all sleepers’ pain points.
4. 2 Zones & 2 Firmness Levels
Although the SweetNight Dreamy Hybrid mattress is not flippable, it offers two firmness options:
- Medium-Soft in the head and shoulders area
- Medium in the back and legs area
This two-zone design allows it to ensure proper spine alignment and relieve pressure in the shoulders area. It also earned SweetNight great scores in 3rd party Dreamy Hybrid reviews. The best part is that those who prefer medium firmness can just rotate the mattress and leave the medium soft area at their feet. Rotating is easier than flipping, so great thinking there!
5. Cooling Properties
You only realize how important cooling is when you wake up sweaty in the middle of the night, or can’t sleep. While very comfortable, foam mattresses usually sleep hot. Hybrid mattresses fair a bit better from this point of view.
SweetNight paid special attention to the cooling ability of their Dreamy hybrid. They combined the Jacquard Oeko-Tex cover with cooling gel foam and pocketed coils to improve breathability and airflow, and thus dissipate heat and regulate body temperature.
In other words, you won’t freeze sleeping on their mattress, but you won’t sweat to death or feel like ripping off your clothes either (unless you want to :)).
6. SweetNight Dreamy Hybrid – Review of Safety Concerns
Some mattresses are real health hazards. From releasing toxic chemicals called volatile organic compounds (VOCs) to embedding particles of dangerous heavy metals and incredibly small fiberglass chips that could cause injuries. Luckily, SweetNight eliminated these risks by embedding safe materials, certified under CertiPUR-US and Oeko-TEX 100 standards, in their mattresses.
This means that they are safe not just for sleepers but also for the environment, low in VOC, and free of heavy metals and other harmful substances. Fiberglass is a major concern of mine after hearing about cases of injuries from fiberglass in mattresses. I was relieved when the manufacturer confirmed that the Dreamy Hybrid Mattress is fiberglass free.
Therefore, if you decide to invest in a Dreamy Hybrid mattress, you can be sure that you and your loved ones will be safe. Even the off-gassing smell so common with foam mattresses is barely perceptible and dissipates fast. The first SweetNight all-foam mattresses did contain fiberglass, so don’t be surprised if you find conflicting information. The important thing to remember is that they made progress and improved their designs since then.
7. Motion Isolation
If you share your bed, you’ll want to make sure that you and your partner won’t disturb one another. It’s a pleasure to report that the Dreamy Hybrid obtained great results in motion isolation tests. Memory foam does a great job isolating motion by itself. The pocketed coils take the feature to the next level, responding to pressure individually and localizing it.
Therefore, if you or your partner toss and turn or visit the toilet more often than the other one would like, you’ll both love this mattress. One can get in and out of bed or turn around anytime, as often as needed, without the other one suffering the consequences.
8. Edge Support
I realized the importance of edge support when reading bedtime stories to my daughters or trying to comfort them when they had nightmares. They wanted me to lie next to them and hold them until they fall back asleep, their small beds and lacking edge support made it a real adventure not to fall.
It seems SweetNight understood the importance of edge support too, and they worked on improving it by adding a foam encasement to their pocketed coils system. The results are definitely better than in their previous models, and the edge of the Dreamy Hybrid feels a lot more stable and supportive than that of some other mattresses we’ve reviewed.
9. Options and Pricing
This SweetNight mattress comes in three thickness options: 8”, 10”, and 12”. While the 8” and 10” mattresses are great for kids, Murphy beds, trundle beds, and also adjustable beds, the 12” is perfect for adults and couples under 550lbs. Sizes range from twin to king. We would have loved to see options like twin XL, California king, or split king, but the available options should accommodate the needs of most sleepers.
Price-wise, this is a pretty affordable hybrid mattress. At the time of this review, it is recommended as one of the best mattresses under $1000 by the Sleep Foundation. Discounted prices start at ~$400 for the 8” version and go up to ~$800 for the 12” king. There are some more affordable mattresses out there, but the value for the money that the Dreamy Hybrid mattress offers is difficult to match.
10. Alternatives and Accessories
If you are not fully convinced that the Dreamy Hybrid mattress is right for you, perhaps the Dreamy Gel Memory Foam mattress will appeal to you more. Both have impressive features and attractive pricepoints, making a worthwhile investment. No matter which one you choose, a waterproof mattress protector should help extend its lifespan. In terms of pillows, you can choose between Original shredded memory foam pillows, with adjustable filling and heavily endorsed as great for neck pain, and Melody down alternative pillows, available as a 2-pack.
