Zhu Zhu Pets originally gained popularity on the British Isles where they were called Go Go Hamsters. Entering the U.S. market under the new name late 2009, Zhu Zhus conquered it! In translation from Mandarin Chinese zhu zhu means “little pig.” However, as we all know by now Zhu Zhu Pets are anything but “little pigs”! For the most part, they are mechanic hamsters. Well… There are exceptions, but still.
