QYKSonic Zoe vs. Foreo Luna: Review and Compare 10 Key Factors
|As Google predicted, the interest in skincare devices is on the rise, and multi-use products like QYKSonic Zoe and Foreo Luna 2 are rightfully in the spotlight now. By combining cleansing and exfoliation with relaxation and anti-aging massage, they cater to the beauty needs of women and, lately, men of all ages, from all over the world.
If you have not yet bought your own sonic skincare device, then it is high time you considered the acquisition. At the price of a complex skincare treatment, you can enjoy ultra-clean, healthier, and younger looking skin in the comfort of your home. The only question is which device you should choose, and we will help you answer it.
We have prepared a 10-point unbiased and in-depth comparison of the two products that currently rule the market: QYKSonic Zoe and Foreo Luna. Since both devices are available in several models, we will compare their classic versions and stick to the same price range. Check out our findings below!
QYKSonic Zoe vs. Foreo Luna 2: 10 Factors to Review (Before You Buy)
1. Design
Zoe and Luna have several design similarities:
- They are of the same size
- Both have similar front power buttons
- They both feature different bristles at the top and on their backside.
This is where the design differences begin. Luna 2 has a rounded shape, while Zoe resembles a flower petal. Zoe has bristles of different lengths and densities on both sides. It is available in six color options: yellow, purple, green, blue, pink, and baby-pink.
On its back, Luna features a soft silicone ribbed pattern meant to massage the skin, reduce wrinkles, and improve skincare products absorption at lower frequencies. The arrangement, length, and thickness of its front bristles vary according to the skin type the device is supposed to care for.
Thus, Luna 2 comes in four color and bristle design options:
- Lavender for sensitive skin – similar, thinner bristles on the entire surface
- Light pink for normal skin – different bristles towards the top, similar to Zoe’s front design
- Baby blue for oily skin – broader bristles on the entire surface
- Aqua for combination skin – three types of bristles, for sensitive, normal, and oily skin, from bottom to top.
From the aesthetic point of view, Zoe is the clear winner of this stage of our Qycsonic Zoe vs. Foreo Luna 2 comparison, due to its petal shape and various color options. Its pointed tip could ensure improved action in difficult to reach areas.
However, aesthetics should not matter when it comes to skincare devices, as you’ll be using them in the comfort and privacy of your home. Based on this consideration, we find Luna’s design superior, due to its versatility and ability to address different skin type needs.
2. Presentation
QYKSonic advertises Zoe as a 3-in-1 anti-aging sonic beauty brush. Its three actions refer to cleansing, massage, and skincare product applications. To perform them, the device relies on a brush with silicone bristles that exceed 6,000 pulsations per minute. Its functions include:
- Complete sonic cleansing of the face and body
- Micro-firming circulation massage
- Minimization of pores and wrinkles
- Exfoliation without irritating the skin
The official website features huge photos of the device, but these take time to load and make the website difficult to navigate.
Foreo introduces Luna 2 as a 2-in-1 device, focusing on its facial cleansing brush and anti-aging massager. However, the description reveals that the device matches and exceeds all Zoe’s functions, boasting superior sonic power and skin-type-based functionality.
Luna 2 promises to:
- Exfoliate dead skin, unclog pores, and remove 99.5% of oil and dirt
- Make the skin 100% more radiant and 98% smoother
- Improve skin firmness and elasticity by 90%
Although the description does not mention Luna’s fitness for whole-body use, we see no reason why that would not be possible. Overall, we couldn’t help notice that Luna’s presentation has a more organized, easier to follow structure.
It features statistics, use instructions, and helpful video guides. Despite the numerous videos, the website loads much faster and is far easier to navigate. That is why we think Luna 2 should be the winner of this point of our Qycsonic Zoe vs. Foreo Luna review.

4. Use
No matter if you settle for QYKSonic Zoe or Foreo Luna 2, your skincare routine will be the same. Here are the steps you need to follow:
- Apply the cleanser on your skin.
- Wet the cleansing brush.
- Activate the device in Cleansing Mode.
- Cleanse and massage the skin surface by gently gliding the brush in small circular motions for one minute.
- Rinse your face and dry it with a soft towel.
- Apply an anti-aging or moisturizing skincare product.
- Activate the device in Anti-Aging Mode and massage the skin areas prone to wrinkles with the anti-aging side of the brush.
- After every use, wash the brush surface with soap and water, rinse it, and pat it dry with a clean towel.
It is important to note that Luna 2 lets you personalize the experience according to your skin type and has a ribbed anti-aging brush. If you choose the right model for your skin type and use it with the right anti-aging products, Luna 2 should provide a more pleasant experience.
Due to its superior power, it is able to reach deeper into the skin layers and improve their elasticity. Its battery supports 450 uses, compared to the 300 uses Zoe’s battery can support. Luna is also lightweight, Zoe weighing two times more.
However, due to its pointy design, Zoe reaches difficult areas like the ones around your nose, eyes, and lips better. Its additional intensity settings allow improved control and comfort. Overall, your experience with the two devices will depend on your needs and expectations.
If you have normal skin but you would like to focus on difficult to reach areas, Zoe might be the better option. If you want a device that caters to the specific needs of your skin type and provides deeper cleansing and massage, Luna 2 will be the winner of the QYKSonic Zoe vs. Foreo Luna confrontation. Before you make a decision, let’s see what the two devices have to offer in terms of pricing, warranty, shipping, returns, and reputation.
5. Pricing and Shipping Policy
At the time of this review, on the official websites, both devices cost around $150. On Amazon, offers for Luna 2 start at $140, while Zoe costs nearly $200. Shipping is free for orders from the official website and subject to retailers’ policies on third-party websites.
To make sure the products are genuine and benefit from the available warranties and guarantees, we recommend acquiring them from the official websites. If that is not possible, you should stick to reliable retailers like Amazon.
6. Warranty
Choosing between QYKSonic Zoe and Foreo Luna 2 should be easy if the warranty is important to you. Zoe benefits from only one-year of warranty. Foreo Luna 2’s warranty is two years. Luna 2 also benefits from a quality warranty of up to 10 years. According to it, users who identify manufacturing defects in their Luna 2 within this period can acquire a new device with a 50% discount.
7. Money Back Guarantees and Returns
Zoe wins this stage of our QYKSonic Zoe vs. Foreo Luna 2 comparison. It comes with a 60-day money back guarantee, and the return shipping is free. At the opposite end, Foreo accepts returns within 14 days from delivery, but only for unopened items. They do not cover return shipping.
8. Awards
Between 2016 and 2017, Luna 2 received several awards from renowned beauty publications, following in the footsteps of its preceding model. Here are just a few of the most important:
-
Self Approved Beauty – Self 2016 Beauty Awards
- Best Electrical Product – 2016 Shelfies Beauty Award
- 2016 Beauty Hit List Award – Nylon
- Beauty Gadgets – Cosmopolitan
- 12 Best Beauty Products of 2016 – Gloria
- Best Beauty Innovation of 2016 – MeNaiset
- Editors’ Award 2016 – Rayli
- 2017 Acne Award – Teen Vogue
- Top 10 Technical Fashion Product 2017 – SOHU
- Luxurious Gadget 2017, Glamour Glammies
- Best Skincare Innovation 2017, LOOK
Unfortunately, our research did not reveal any awards received by Zoe, so Luna remains the winner of this point of our QYKSonic Zoe vs. Foreo Luna 2 comparison.
9. Manufacturer
QYKSonic is based in Irvine, California. They only manufacture the Zoe 3-in-1 skincare devices. Besides the hereby reviewed standard version, Zoe has Bliss, Pluss, and Luxx versions, each with a little something to differentiate them from the base model.
Foreo’s Luna line of skincare devices is much more complex, including several other device models: Luna, Luna Luxe, Luna 2 Professional, Luna Play, Luna Play Mini, Luna Play Plus, Luna Play Smart, Luna Go, Luna Mini, Luna Mini 2, UFO, UFO Mini, Iris, and Espada.
They also produce day and night cleansers, lotions, and masks. They have a line of Luna skincare devices dedicated to men, and some impressive gift sets combining their best-sold skincare devices and beauty products.
Besides skincare products, Foreo is also famous for its line of innovative, award-winning oral care devices, namely the ISSA toothbrushes. Throughout the years, Foreo made the headlines of numerous famous publications, from Vogue, Elle, and Cosmopolitan to Bloomberg, GQ, and more.
Unfortunately, QYKSonic cannot match these performances. Although several important websites like Business Insider reviewed their product, they have yet to match Foreo’s fame and prestige. Under the circumstances, we have no other option but to designate Luna 2 as the winner of this point of our QYKSonic Zoe vs. Foreo Luna 2 review.
10. User Feedback and Products Reputation
Since both companies have attractive affiliate programs, you’ll find tens, if not hundreds of reviews praising everything about these skincare devices. While those reviews are not necessarily unreliable, we prefer to judge products based on the opinions of their buyers, and not on the claims of the sellers.
Again, Foreo Luna 2 takes the lead, as its effectiveness is supported by hundreds of positive reviews on major retail websites like Amazon, Sephora, and more. Zoe is not that famous. In fact, we’ve had a hard time finding unbiased reviews on third-party websites. As a result, we had no other option but to conclude that….
And the winner in our QYKSonic Zoe vs. Foreo Luna 2 comparison is… Foreo Luna 2.
If you have you tried any of these two skincare devices, we would really appreciate hearing from you (whether you agree with our conclusion or not). Don’t hesitate to share your experience in a comment below!
Great review! However, it is a somewhat out of date as Qyksonic now have three additional models which launched very recently – The Zoe Bliss, Plus and Luxx, all of which eclipse Foreo’s offerings! You can see these at their website.
Dear Adrian,
Thank you for taking the time to read the above and express your opinion. As I explained in my review, since both devices are available in several models, it felt normal to compare their classic versions and stick to the same price range.
I did mention the other Zoe models in my review, but comparing Luna 2 with them felt like comparing apples and pears. For example, Zoe Luxx costs ~$350, as opposed to the ~$200 price of Luna 2. At this price difference, judging by my findings in the above review, I agree that Zoe Luxx is better than Luna 2.
Whether or not the difference in performance would justify the ~$150 price difference is hard to say. I guess it depends on every buyer’s budget and needs.
